RESUMÉ
Des Clifford is a metallurgical engineer with 18 years management
experience in mineral processing and publishing. Having
'cut his teeth' on the South African goldfields, operating
and managing a 300,000 t/y conventional (cyanide) gold recovery
plant and a 720,000 t/y pyrite flotation plant, Des has
been providing for the past 13 years editorial coverage
of the latest technical, strategic, operational and financial
developments of the world's mining companies and their equipment
suppliers. During this time he has attended a substantial
number of key conferences and seminars, and has undertaken
assignments in almost 20 countries. Des has also liaised
with the Japanese Institute of Advanced Science and Technology
as a review editor for a book examining the issues of small-scale
mining in southeast Asia, and sat on the FT (Financial
Times) Gold Mines Index Committee as an advisor. Des
continues to be a regular contributor to World Gold /
World Gold Analyst, and offers a full editorial service
to the international mining industry, including commissioning
and writing technical articles, sub-editing company and
technical reports, and proof reading. |
